Last weekend on November 4th, the Town of Bethel celebrated it’s 150th year! We’re proud to be a sponsor and vendor to this adorable town, once said to “be 16 miles from everywhere“. There are three other towns in North Carolina named Bethel – this celebrated the one in Pitt County, once known as “Brandon”. The railroad here was a big deal – for awhile it was the only way to catch a train in Pitt County, with people coming from as far as Greenville to ride!
The Bethel 150th Celebration opened with a community prayer, addresses from the Mayor Carl Wilson, Commissioner Mary Perkins-Williams, and Representative Gloristine Brown. It’s inspiring to be a part of a tiny town coming together to support other businesses and it’s people. With two roads closed the vendors, shoppers, and locals filled the streets.
For Rebuild Better Life Books, this was our second event EVER and we would call it a success! We turned a small profit which we plan to use to improve our inventory. As we build our catalog we’ll have something for everyone.
To everyone who supported us, from a single sticker purchase, picking a puzzle, to clearing out our Body, Mind, and Spirit section, THANK YOU for making a difference to a small business and a family.
Looking forward to our next event!
Happy 150th Birthday Celebration Bethel! And to fellow readers, may your next book be great!
